Unfortunately I'm unable to test on a Mac to see if it's just a folder issue, or a problem with the extension. If you did use Inkscape Extensions (which is usually within your system folders, and often needs more permissions) could you try again in the User Extensions folder and see if that works? Did you copy the files into that folder? Or did you use the folder location further down the list for 'Inkscape Extensions'? You seem to have many other extensions there already, so I'm thinking you might have used the 2nd one (my user extensions folder was empty on both Linux & Windows). it will show you a list of folder locations, including one for 'User Extensions'. in Inkscape, if you go to Edit / Preferences, then click on System. I haven't tested the code, but I'd hazard the guess that checking for bbox not being null would not be necessary. (It says not tested with Windows either, but I did a quick test and it seemed to work fine.)Ĭan I double check where you put the files. Unless I've not understood you correctly, all you're looking to do is draw a rectangle around the text, so the rect need only be drawn starting at the text element's x,y and with the bbox's width and height. I see you're using a Mac, and it does say that the extension hasn't been tested with Mac, so I'm not sure if there's an issue there. I'm not certain what the problem is with the extension. I'm not sure if this messes up things for when you go to cut? I have little experience with cutters and don't know if you need an 'edge' all the way around? Right now, it's just a bunch of single lines, mostly not connected to each other.

Do you see how you have a single contour with a border around the edge? Your whole image is made up of different single contours, each with its own edge (often in different places) and that's where the border is coming from. Click on the 'rectangle' then hold the left mouse button and drag away from the image (you can Undo afterwards). Your rectangle is not one object, it's made up from the edges of multiple objects piled up on top of each other.
